The plot of The Gospel of Lovingkindness, a new play by Marcus Gardley now onstage at Victory Gardens Theater, calls to mind the murder of Hadiya Pendleton, the 15-year-old King College Prep student who was shot and killed in a south-side park on January 29, 2013, just days after she performed with her school band's drill team during President Obama's second inaugural festivities.
